Forget the tent, Use a Hammock!

Why not leave your bulky, awkward, smelly tent at home and sling up a 1lb. hammock in just a minute or two? We've all kicked back in a hammock on a Sunday afternoon in grandma's backyard, but those hammocks are different. Those hammocks are made out of a thick, obtrusive, knotted rope; not my perfect idea of a relaxing nap... This is 2012 when ultralight backpacking and outdoor conservation are at their peak! We hear "GO GREEN!" We try to reduce, reuse, and recycle, but sometimes don't really know where to start. Start on your next family camping trip. Memorial Day weekend is in just a few days. 4th of July is around the corner and Summer is here to stay for a the next LOOONG four months. Now, as much fun as it sounds, lugging your 27lb. "sleeps 18" mildew-infested family tent around the high Uintas for a "family getaway" is not your wife's idea of an awesome weekend away with the kids. (Just trust me). Grab a few hammocks, and then go! Don't waste your time packing your sleeping pad, your air mattress, making sure all of your tent poles and stakes got put back in the bag after your last trip, just grab your hammock, throw it in the back seat and drive away! Forget the tent, Use a hammock!
